That’s where your new Leaf and Repeat wall comes in. You’ve got the look, the 5 year UV protection, and best of all, zero watering schedules. But even the best faux foliage needs a little bit of love to stay looking its best. Here is how to keep your wall looking so real your neighbours will be asking for your secret. We won't tell if you don't.
1. The Post-Unboxing Fluf
When your panels arrive, they have been in a box for a bit. They might look a little flat, kind of like us after a long-haul flight. Once they are up on the fence or wall, spend a few minutes gently "fluffing" the leaves by hand. Pull the stems forward and separate the foliage to create that deep, 3D texture. It makes a massive difference in how realistic the wall looks.
Living in South East Queensland means dust, pollen, and the occasional salt spray if you are near the coast. About every 3 to 6 months, give your outdoor wall a quick misting with the garden hose. It is oddly satisfying to watch the dust wash away, and it keeps that "just-installed" shine.
For indoor walls, a quick go-over with a microfiber duster or a hairdryer on the coolest setting will do the trick. Just avoid harsh chemicals or bleach. Our panels are UV-tough, but they do not like abrasive cleaners.
Our panels are built to handle the Aussie sun, but they are not big fans of fire.
The BBQ Rule: Keep your wall at least 2 metres away from the barbie or fire pit.
Reflective Heat: Watch out for "hot spots" caused by sunlight reflecting off glass pool fences or sliding doors. Concentrated heat can warp the plastic over time, so if you spot a glare, a little bit of shading goes a long way.
Our summer storms can be a bit wild. Once a year, do a quick lap of your wall to check your cable ties or screws. If a rogue branch has shifted during a Northside blow, just tuck it back in or secure it with a fresh green zip-tie.
Bugs won't eat your greenery, but spiders might decide it is the perfect spot for a high-rise web. If you spot a few eight-legged squatters, a quick blast with the hose or a standard, non-staining surface spray will keep your green oasis to yourself.
